1. Acceptance and eligibility
These Terms govern access to and use of linkshrtn. By creating an account, creating or following a short link, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and our referenced policies. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must have the legal capacity to enter this agreement and be at least 16 years old, or older where local law requires. If you use the service for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it.
2. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may not share access in a way that defeats security or account controls. We may require password changes, restrict access, or suspend an account to protect the service.
3. Service description
linkshrtn provides URL shortening, redirect handling, link management, QR generation, folders, tags, access controls, and privacy-conscious click analytics. Features may change as the service evolves. A short link is a routing convenience, not ownership of a domain name, permanent entitlement to an alias, endorsement of a destination, or guarantee of uninterrupted availability.
4. Your URLs and content
You remain responsible for destination URLs, titles, notes, tags, and other material you submit. You represent that you have the rights and lawful basis needed to use and share them, and that redirects will not deceive or harm visitors. You grant us a limited license to host, process, display, and transmit submitted material solely to operate, secure, and improve the service.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use linkshrtn to facilitate or conceal unlawful activity, phishing, credential theft, malware, fraud, scams, illegal goods or services, intellectual-property infringement, impersonation, harassment, privacy violations, abusive spam, unsolicited bulk email or SMS, deceptive affiliate traffic, or content that creates a serious risk of harm. You may not cloak a malicious destination, cycle domains to evade blocking, automate abusive creation, scrape or overload the service, probe or bypass security controls, interfere with other users, reverse engineer security mechanisms, or use the service in violation of sanctions or applicable law.
6. Spam and automated use
Short links may not be distributed through unsolicited bulk messaging or misleading campaigns. Reasonable automation must not exceed limits, degrade service, or evade controls. No public API is promised by this release. Our Anti-Spam Policy forms part of these Terms.
7. Moderation, suspension, and termination
We may investigate links or accounts, disable redirects, remove content, block domains, preserve relevant records, restrict registration, or suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, respond to a credible report or lawful request, protect people or systems, prevent fraud, or maintain service integrity. Urgent risks may be addressed without advance notice. Where appropriate, we may ask for clarification or allow an appeal. Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent termination.
8. Intellectual property
The service software, visual design, linkshrtn brand, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant only a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service as provided. They do not transfer our intellectual property. Rights in user-provided destinations and content remain with their respective owners.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee that every link, feature, or account will remain continuously available, error-free, secure, or compatible with every system. Hosting failures, maintenance, abuse controls, legal requirements, or circumstances beyond reasonable control may interrupt access. We may add, modify, limit, or discontinue features. Where feasible, we will provide reasonable notice of material adverse changes.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability. We do not control or endorse user destinations and are not responsible for third-party websites reached through short links. Nothing in these Terms excludes mandatory warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, linkshrtn will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunity arising from the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount paid for the service during the preceding twelve months; because the current service is free, this may be zero. These limits do not apply where prohibited, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or mandatory product and consumer protections.
12. Indemnification
Where legally permitted, you agree to defend and indemnify linkshrtn against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful destinations, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person’s rights. This does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own conduct or where consumer law prohibits it.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled. You are independently responsible for privacy notices or permissions required for your own destination pages and campaigns.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules, subject to mandatory protections of the country where an eligible consumer habitually resides. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes. Nothing here deprives a consumer of non-waivable statutory rights or mandatory venue protections.
15. Changes and contact
We may revise these Terms. The updated date identifies the current version. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance where permitted; material changes will be communicated where required.
